A message from the Principal
It seems all of Australia is celebrating the remarkable World Cup quarter final win of the Matildas on Saturday night. Their triumph on the global stage exemplifies courage, excellence, and respect. (Recognise our CLEAR values?) I loved that, in the penalty shootout, team members were so supportive, regardless of the outcome of each shot. Coming up against England on Wednesday night may be a daunting prospect for the Aussies, but we know they will leave nothing on the field, and each team member will have the other’s back.
And as we cheer for these talented athletes, I’m reminded of the words of Paul in Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." With faith, each of us can tackle all trials head on and with confidence. God’s plan is that we would fully rely on Him.
And just like the Matildas, being part of the body of Christ means that we have team members around us who also have our backs, which seems like a great way to do life! 1 Thessalonians 5:11: "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."
Two challenges for me; How often do I try to overcome problems on my own rather than trusting the Overcomer? Am I looking out for those around me that might need a word of encouragement or a helping hand?
