We’re excited to announce that Cooloola Christian College is launching Parent Orbit, a new mobile app for parents.

We've attached an overview of the features within the app for this launch.

The app is ready for download!

To download the app:

1. Go to: https://parentorbit.page.link/ccc or scan QR code
   You’ll be directed to the Apple or Google store.
2. Click the Install button. After the app is installed, our school will be loaded as an account.
3. Click on our school name then tap the login button.
4. Enter your Parent Lounge credentials onto the login screen that appears. (Parent Lounge and Parent Orbit use the same login credentials)

You are now ready to check out our new app.

Exciting features you can look forward to:

• Alerts for Pastoral Care positive merits;
• Updating and verifying address and medical details;
• Adding and acknowledging absences;
• Receiving customised notifications.

Jesus told his disciples on the eve of his death; “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” (John 15:5–8)

Jesus warns us that apart from Him, we can do nothing. He also directs us to the method of our abiding. We build a life centred on our relationship with Jesus. Abiding in Jesus also connects us to every other branch. We are not meant to live apart from others any more than we live apart from Jesus. We love one another. To abide in Christ is to participate in the life of His body, the church.

Jesus speaks to us in His Word and He invites us to speak back to Him through prayer. Abiding not only renews our minds—it transforms our desires. We begin to seek more out of life, not less. We want His name to be glorified, His will to be done, His kingdom to come. We hope to bear much fruit, not for our own glory, but to glorify God in all that we do.

In Christ, and Christ alone, we find our strength and connection.

Primary SRC would like to fundraise for Kids4Kids and enjoy selling some icy treats as the weather is warming up. Monday, Wednesday and Friday (along with Colour Run) after school, the Primary SRC team will be selling Zooper Doopers for 50c in the Breezeway for all students or staff.

Bus students will need to leave their Zooper Dooper sealed until they are home; they cannot be consumed on the bus.

If this fundraiser goes well, Primary SRC would like to do this weekly through Term 4. We will evaluate after next week.

RUOK Day - Thurs 14 Sept

There will be yellow doughnuts for sale in the tuckshop as a conversation starter. Take time to check in your children, friends and neighbours.

Our Colour Run, hosted by our P&F, is fast approaching! This exciting event is planned for Friday 15 September. The event kicks off on the bottom oval at 1pm. All Primary and Secondary students will be participating. Parents are welcome to join us!

Please find attached further information from our P&F, and also a reminder on creating your fundraising profile. Students are also able to make a donation on the day to participate.

We remind our College Community of the expectations regarding recording or taking photographs at College events as per our Community Code of Conduct which is available on our website:

Parents, students, volunteers and visitors of CCC shall exercise caution when recording via video, audio or image at College events (such as sports days) to avoid recording people other than your child wherever possible unless you are doing so with the consent of the other people in the recording, including staff. You must not publish or share video, audio or images of people in the College community via social media unless express permission is given by the College and each person recorded, or their parent.

Photos of the College, its staff or members should not be posted on any social media page without written consent of the College.

We are excited to continue extra-curricular offerings at CCC in Term 4!

Available for sign-up for Term 4 are the following activities:

• CCC Build – Tuesday mornings Wk 2-8, 7am
  *Note* - This term build will use aspects of combat sports during the sessions. Students will use focus pads and guards; to punch and kick. Students will not be sparing (fighting) each other.
• Homework Club – Tuesday afternoons Wk 2-8, 3pm
• Netball – Friday mornings Wk 2-8, 7:45am

The following activities are on hold for Term 4:

• Futsal – moving to an interschool competition for Term 4, watch this space!
• Big Muscles, Little Muscles

Instrumental Music and Dance are not accepting new sign-ups for Term 4.

We have an abundance of lost property at the College! Most items are unnamed. These items will be on display, outside Admin, on Friday. Any items not collected by the end of term will be donated.

Real Talk offers fantastic parenting advice to help navigate the challenges that are faced in raising children in today's digital world. This is a great resource focussing on G.R.I.T. - but not the "grit" that you may have heard about in self-help and basic growth mindset materials. This is an acronym to help young people (and adults) break unwanted habits of any kind.

Focus on school hats - Summer is coming and sun safety is important - there will be a focus on students wearing the correct hat.

Staff will remind students about wearing the correct hat during Week 8, and during Week 9 infringements will be given to Upper-Primary and Secondary Students who do not have the correct hat when outside.

Uniform Policy update - from 2024 all students will wear navy socks with both uniforms. These will be available from the Uniform Shop.

If you have a regular payment plan, please check the balance to ensure the payments are sufficient.

Brekky Club

Due to Pizza Day and Colour Run there will be no Brekky club this week Friday 15^th September.

Faith in Action

The P&F Faith in Action team and CCC Support Services have teamed up to help support our CCC Community. Can you help? We are looking for volunteers who would be happy to provide meals (cooked/bought - containers provided), if that’s not your thing perhaps a gift card, coffee voucher or a homemade card. Every little bit helps (there is always the option to pass if not convenient or opt-out). If you are interested in helping out in any capacity, please contact P&F Secretary – Laura McAllister.
