Proverbs 22:6 in the NKJV is worded beautifully to remind us of our process of behaviour development here at CCC: "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."
Through the Responsible Thinking Process and our partnership
with parents, we work together to help students grow (train them) to manage
their behaviour. RTP helps students understand who holds the responsibility for
their actions. Through RTP we’re also able to coach students to better manage
situations in the future. The book “Loving our Students on Purpose”
describes the Trust that's built when we work together to consistently
uphold expectations. Young people thrive in an environment that is predictable
and transparent. Similarly, Mistrust quickly develops in environments of
confusion and inconsistency. This often results in fear, avoidance, and apathy.
Let's continue to work together to foster trust and responsibility. (Thanks to
our Support Services team for their investment in our students!)
In Week One of this term, the Real Talk team came to CCC and presented a practical and Biblical message about Consent and Respect to Secondary students.
In Pastoral Care classes, teachers are reinforcing this message using resources from Real Talk, including age-appropriate lessons and videos which encourage students to think critically.
Real Talk also offer resources for parents to more easily talk to their children about topics which can be a bit difficult or awkward (ie; relationships, sexting, pornography, consent and respect). You can sign up for free short videos on a weekly basis or become a member to receive more content.

Make sure you use CCC's Container ID C10002808 when dropping off your eligible containers!
Why not make pre-labelled bag tags with your scheme ID to hand out at your next community event (e.g. club sport training sessions, school and fundraising events)? You can use masking tape, labels, stickers or even pieces of paper for people to tape onto the sides of their collection bags.
