Parents are welcome to join staff and students for our Commencement Service held in Stan Baker Hall at 9:00am on Friday 30 January 2026. Please sign in at Admin or the Hall.

Term 1 Prayer Meeting will be held at 8:30 on Friday under the shelter near SBH. Parents and staff are invited to join us in praying for the term ahead.

Parent Engagement

• Monday Morning Assembly (Primary Village): A short weekly gathering (10–15 mins) including notices, prayer, weekly awards and the National Anthem.
• Primary Chapel (Fridays, Period 1 – Stan Baker Hall): A time of worship and reflection on God’s Word. Families are warmly invited to attend.
• Connect & Serve (Fridays, Periods 6–7): Weekly sessions focused on connection, service and living out CCC values, building year-on-year opportunities for students to contribute positively to their community.

Teaching & Learning

• Early Years Focus: Strong foundations in literacy and numeracy through InitiaLit, supported by hands-on inquiry learning in the afternoons and increased Health & Physical Education to develop gross motor skills.
• Learning Support: A three-tier Response to Intervention (RTI) model providing targeted support, from quality classroom teaching to small-group and short-term intensive support as needed. Read more here.
• Assessment & Reporting:
  • Prep reporting focused on English, Mathematics and HPE.
  • Simplified reporting across Primary with one overall achievement grade, supporting a connected curriculum and clearer communication for families.

Sign-up for Instrumental Music and SHINE Dance is now open for Term 1, 2026, and only available through Parent Lounge/Orbit App, where up-front payment is required (individual lessons and instrument hire will be invoiced an additional fee after sign up - please refer to the Arts Agreement for details.)

Students who are currently enrolled in the program will also need to be enrolled through Parent Lounge, each term.

We have farewelled Di Cross and Liam Smith at the end of 2025 and we wish them well in their future endeavours. Annie Wilson is also reducing the number of students that she will be teaching in 2026.

Excitingly, we are welcoming three new tutors to our teaching team in 2026 – Sam Hosking (Brass), Monique Hosking (Piano and Voice), and Charlotte Bower (Piano).

Please note that Musical Theatre will not be offered until Term 3 due to the whole school musical in 2026.

Instrumental Music:

• Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello) - all year levels

• Woodwind (Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax) - Years 4-12

• Vocal (singing lessons) - all year levels
• Percussion - We are happy to inform you that Sam Polley will be teaching percussion until we secure a permanent percussion teacher. Sam graduated from CCC last year and is at grade 8 level in drums/percussion.

SHINE Dance:

• Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical - all year levels

To secure your child's place in your chosen program, I encourage you to enrol as soon as possible, as places are limited in some areas due to teacher availability and timetabling considerations.

Signups for our Excellence in Sport Program are now live. Please note that some of our extra-curricular activities are capped, so families are encouraged to complete registrations promptly.

Several CCC Eagles team trials will be taking place in Week 1 and Week 2. These trials are occurring early as competition start dates are fast approaching in Term 1. If your child is interested and has skills in any of the sports listed below, please ensure they attend the relevant trial.

• Selection into CCC Eagles teams involves association fees
• Parents are responsible for transport to and from training sessions and games

Netball

• Selected students will play in the Gympie Netball Competition on Monday afternoons/evenings

Volleyball

• Tuesday 27^th January | 3:00–4:00pm Year 7–12
• Tuesday 3^rd February | 3:00–4:00pm Year 4-6 (10-12 years)
• Selected students will compete in the Gympie Volleyball Competition on Thursday afternoon/evenings

Futsal

• Selected students will compete in the Australian School Futsal Titles – various venues.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are pleased to share the upcoming dates for the Gympie District Sporting Trials for students aged 10–12 years and 13–19 years.

If your child is competitive in their chosen sport and would like to participate in the district trials, please complete the attached nomination form along with the required medical form. All completed forms are to be returned to Mrs Chloe Kraak by the specified due dates to allow nominations to be submitted.

Important Information:

• Transport: Parents and guardians are responsible for transporting students to and from the trials.
• Uniform: Students are required to wear their CCC sports uniform to the trial.
• Medical Forms: Medical forms must be handed directly to the coach or manager at the trial.

Please ensure all forms are submitted promptly to facilitate the nomination process. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Please see details on drop off and pick-up zones attached below. It is important that you pick up your children from the designated zones. Families are allocated to pick up zones based on the year level of the youngest student (ie; family with a Prep student will have all students picked up in the blue Prep area pick up zone).

Important information for the Year 1 to 3 orange pick-up area: Upon arrival, please stop at the boom gate. The gate will open at 2:55pm to commence pick-up.

As all student medications were sent home at the end of last year, families are reminded that new medication consent forms are required for 2026.

If your child requires medication to be kept or administered at school next year, parents/carers must:

• Complete a new Medication Consent Form for 2026 (even if medication was supplied in previous years)

• Provide medication in its original packaging

• Ensure medication is clearly labelled with the student’s name, dosage, and instructions

• Bring medication to the school office (medication should not be sent to school with students)

A copy of our CCC Medication Consent Form is attached below. Please complete the form and return it with the medication to Student Services on your student's first day.
