We are excitedly planning and preparing for 2025!

Please take the time to complete the parent preference form regarding class structures for 2025. Consider each child individually, noting the student by name in the form.

Please note parent preference data is used in discussions with our experienced teaching staff. The parent preference does not guarantee class allocations in 2025. Where possible we give preference of a single year level class to the students who have been in composite classes the previous year.

This form will remain open until Thursday 31st October at 3pm.

A Heart of Service

CCC has always encouraged staff and students to embrace a heart of service. I recall 2 young primary students coming to my office to ask if they could collect coloured pencil tips to sell to other students in order to raise money for kids who could not afford pencils. Out of this spirit of generosity Kids 4 Kids was born. Student Representative Council members still raise money through Kids 4 Kids contributing to many worthwhile causes. Back in 2006 CCC ran the very first Solomon Islands ministry trip which established our sister school relationship and many years of blessings for both communities. Yesterday I was informed that over the last 10 years of Make a Stand, CCC has raised over $80,000 to rescue children from slavery. And as we look towards Christmas, CCC has again stepped up to put together a record number of shoe boxes full of gifts and the hope of the Gospel going to children in need across the globe.

Teachers and parents in our community are training up the next generation and modelling a heart of service in classroom and through events as part of our character shaping curriculum. Jesus, when asked, “what is the most important command?”, responded that it was simply this - Love God, love others. I am excited that this is the heart that is evident in our students and our staff.

As a bit of a reminisce, I have linked a few videos from previous Solomon Islands trips. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from Year 9-11 students to join us on our upcoming trip in 2025 – an opportunity for our community to come together to express our heart of service yet again.

Our Instrumental Music and Dance Showcase is on today, Wednesday, 16th October. This year, we are including our Woodwind Ensemble, choirs, and dance students. Our Year 4 Immersion Band will also perform at this event.

We hope you can join us for this wonderful event in support of our Instrumental and Dance students.

CCC Build is back for Term 4, with a twist! Mr Pritchard is running a series of challenges for students to participate in with a parent or mentor! They can still attend without a partner, but we would love to see teams working together each Tuesday morning.

Sign-up is open now, via the CCC App. The Build Challenge series runs for 3 weeks, starting Tuesday 22 October at 7 am.

We hope to have many parents, caregivers, and mentors join us for this challenge.

Big Days Out – Years 7-9, 10 & 11 and 12

The end of the year is rapidly approaching and staff have been busy planning “Big Day Out”. Activities this year include:

• Year 12 - Aussie World (Wednesday 13^th November 2024)
  The event and date are still to be confirmed with Year 12 Pastoral Care teacher Mr. Pritchard.
• Year 10 & 11 – Aussie World (Friday 25^th of October 2024)
• Year 7 - 9 - Gympie Aquatic Centre (Monday 2^nd of December 2024)

These events are an opportunity for students to celebrate the end of the year with their classmates and staff in a fun and safe environment.

CCC’s usual high expectations of CLEAR values and non-uniform dress code will be maintained on these days. Additionally, students who have not completed assessment or have not been following our CLEAR values leading up to the events may not be permitted to attend.

“Big Days Out” are always memorable days for students and staff.

We’re excited to share that we have over 80 Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes ready to send this year! To cover the postage costs, we’re hosting a Christmas Cupcake Stall next Thursday 24 October.

Parents if you are able to bake and donate cupcakes for the stall, your contribution would be very much appreciated. Students and staff will be able to purchase cupcakes at 2nd break.

Thank you to our CCC community for helping our students raise funds to support the ongoing work of Destiny Rescue.

Over the past 10 years, the CCC community has raised over $85,000.

Last Friday’s Primary Swimming Carnival was a huge success! We were blessed with amazing weather, and it was incredible to see so many students thriving and giving 100% in the water.

A big thank you to all the staff for the extra effort they put in to ensure the day ran smoothly, and to our wonderful parents for their support and positive influence in our community.

And now, for the results…

Congratulations to Abednego for taking the win with 500 points, followed closely by Shadrach with 497, and Meshach with 402 points. Well done to all our swimmers!

Parents and caregivers, please remember that senior students will not be granted permission to leave the grounds without prior parental notification. No phone calls will be made to confirm authorisation from parents/caregivers.

At CCC, we are grateful for our dedicated bus service, with drivers who care for the well-being of our students. We all play a role in ensuring that the bus travel experience is positive for everyone. As such, we’d like to remind families of the behaviour guidelines agreed upon when applying to use the bus service:

BUS SERVICE - EXPECTATIONS

• Students will be polite and courteous to the bus driver.

• Students MUST obey any instructions given by the driver.

• Entry will always be in an orderly manner and only with the driver’s permission and in the presence of either the driver or a teacher.

• Students MUST present their Student ID card or Bus Token to scan on and off the bus.

• Students will remain seated during the entire trip and will not move from seat to seat.

• Seatbelts MUST be worn in buses where they are fitted.

• Food, drink or chewing gum are NOT to be consumed at any time (excursions and sport included).

• Noise levels are to be kept to a reasonable level at all times. Students will not shout, scream, swear or misbehave during the trip.

• Electronic devices are permitted whilst on the bus, but students must understand that they are doing so at their own risk and must follow rules outlined in the Cooloola Christian College IT Agreement.

• Students will not touch any other person on the bus or their belongings.

• Respect for fellow students is to be shown at all times.

• Students are asked to report any new damage to the bus interior to the driver at the end of a trip

On Saturday, October 19, from 2 pm to 5 pm, we are delighted to invite the entire community to join us for a special Family Fun Afternoon in celebration of the official opening of our new building. This event will be an opportunity for all to enjoy the festivities and connect in a welcoming atmosphere.

The highlight of the day will be a dedication ceremony at 3:00 PM. We have planned a variety of activities, including games, Devonshire Tea, a sausage sizzle, face painting, and more!

We look forward to celebrating this milestone with many members of our local community.
