At the centre of a biblical worldview is the radical recognition that the most horrible thing that ever occurred was the most wonderful thing that ever occurred. Consider the cross of Jesus. Could anything be more painful or unjust than the only perfect person to ever live being tortured and cruelly murdered.

But there is hope! The moment of Jesus’ death is also the moment of LIFE. This moment of extreme suffering guaranteed that suffering would end one day. Jesus’ death and resurrection purchased eternal life and freedom for those who chose to follow Him. The same God who planned the worst thing would be the best thing, and wants to be your Heavenly Father.

If you don’t believe what Jesus has done for you, ask a Christian friend to help you understand. It may be the beginning of the best decision you have ever made.

If you do know Jesus, be careful how you view a tragedy. It could in fact be grace. So be careful how you make sense of life.

Parents Approaching Other Children

Parents who have a grievance with the behaviour or language of a student enrolled at CCC, should raise their concern directly with a relevant staff member. Our staff will be able to assist in determining the best strategy for resolving the matter positively.

Never confront a student directly and never seek out that child in the playground or the classroom. This behaviour (no matter how calmly you speak) represents an imbalance of power and could cause distress for the child and other children in the area.

Never contact a student directly via phone or digital platforms for the purpose of raising your grievance. Again, contact college staff to seek assistance in addressing your concern.

All visitors (including parents and relatives) must sign in at the Administration Building, before entering other areas of the school campus (except during organised events or afternoon pick up).

A reminder that our Yr 10 Immunisation Clinic is being held on Wednesday 11 June. Students in Year 10 have been sent home with the Yr 10 Meningococcal Immunisation Information Pack & Consent Forms.

Please see details on drop off and pick up zones below. It is important that you pick up your children from the designated zones. Families are allocated to pick up zones based on the year level of the youngest student (ie; family with a Prep student will have all students picked up in the blue Prep area pick up zone).

The Learning Hub are excited to announce that the Premier’s Reading Challenge officially began on Tuesday, May 6th. All Prep to Year 9 students are invited to participate in this wonderful initiative encourages students to read widely and develop a lifelong love of books. All students are invited to participate by reading and recording their books over the coming months using their School Reader Record Form.

We look forward to seeing our students take on the challenge and celebrate their reading achievements!

In week 2 of term 3, CCC will have the privilege of hosting 30 students aged 15-17 and two escorts from Yuhigaoka High School in Japan. During their week here, students will interact with all CCC students and have English speaking classes, they will also visit Australia Zoo. The Alliance of Christian Religious Education (ACRE) is holding a Fundraising Dinner to support the work of Christian RI in Queensland.

The dinner will be held at Kingston House Impressions Restaurant, 11 Channon Street, Gympie on Monday the 2nd June at 6:15pm. Please arrive at 6pm.

Guests will be treated to a delicious two course meal and a presentation and update on the work of Christian RI across Queensland and the Gympie area.

ACRE exists to help support and champion Christian RI in local state schools so that every child may have the opportunity to question, explore and discover the Christian faith.

ACRE has partnered with the Gympie Minister’s Network to provide a Paid Christian RI Instructor to teach Christian RI in our local state schools. Funds raised will be used to support the work of ACRE and Paid Christian RI in the Gympie Region.

The Farm safety calendar competition raises awareness among primary school students and their communities of common hazards on farms and other rural properties. The published calendar is an opportunity for safety messages to be prominently displayed in the home throughout the year, reminding Queenslanders of all ages to work and play safely on farm properties. Queensland primary school students (prep to grade 6) are encouraged to draw and colour a picture to illustrate a farm safety message. Winning students receive a $250 gift card and $500 for their school!
