As we come to the end of another full Semester, we reflect on the incredible learning that has taken place across our classrooms. For us as leaders, it has been a joy to see students growing in knowledge, confidence, character and faith day by day.

We saw many strong sporting performances from our futsal, volleyball, and netball teams. Along with representative athletes, you have demonstrated a spirit of teamwork and perseverance. And there is so much more to look forward to with the Musical rehearsals in full swing and Eisteddfod just around the corner.

As the holidays begin, we pray that each family enjoys a restful and refreshing break. May this be a time to reconnect with loved ones, make special memories, and be renewed for the semester ahead.

Primary Reporting Update for Families

Reports will be published this week. It is always a joy to share highlights of student growth and each child’s stage of development with you.

While reports provide valuable insight, they don’t capture the full picture. Every student has taken steps forward this Semester - growing in confidence, building character, and showing courage to try new things. These important aspects of learning are not always easily reflected in a report.

The purpose of school reports is to communicate student progress and achievement in alignment with the Australian Curriculum, and to help guide how we can best support learning together.

When you read your child’s report, we encourage you to focus on the big picture:
effort + progress + attitude

Helpful tips when reading your student’s report:

• Read the report yourself first, then read it together with your child
• Highlight strengths and gently discuss areas for growth
• Keep the tone positive and encouraging
• Read the pastoral comment together and talk about character strengths

Understanding Achievement Levels – The Train Journey Analogy

We use achievement levels to describe where students are in their learning journey:

Ratings above and below Standard Achieved are developed from the Australian Curriculum with support from resources created by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority and Independent Schools Queensland, these are detailed at the beginning of your report card.

• CA – Comprehensive Application
  The train is confidently navigating changing tracks. Your child applies skills in new and complex situations, thinks critically, and can explain and justify their ideas—even teaching others.
• WB – Working Beyond
  The train is moving strongly ahead on familiar tracks. Your child demonstrates a deep understanding, uses advanced vocabulary, and solves complex, familiar problems independently.
• SA – Standard Achieved
  The train is travelling steadily along the expected track. Your child is meeting the year-level standard and applying skills in familiar situations with minimal support.
• WT – Working Towards
  The train is climbing uphill. Your child is developing understanding and can complete parts of tasks, but still needs some guidance and support.
• LP – Limited Progress
  The train is stoking the engine. Your child is building foundational skills and requires significant support. Growth is still happening, even if progress feels slower.

Our teaching team greatly values partnering with you. Next term, you will have the opportunity to book a Learning Progress Meeting to discuss your child’s progress and goals. As always, you are welcome to contact your child’s teacher with any questions.

Every child is unique and learns at their own pace.

In the early years, we are guided by national recommendations that prioritise strong foundations in English and Mathematics, alongside Health and Physical Education (HPE). At this stage of learning, schools are only required to formally assess and report on these areas.

In your child’s upcoming report card, you will see overall achievement levels for English, Mathematics and HPE only. Other subject areas are still taught as part of a rich and engaging program; however, they will be reported through effort and engagement, rather than an academic achievement level.

This year, we have intentionally increased our time and focus on English, Mathematics and HPE. We know that early literacy and numeracy skills are critical building blocks for future learning. Equally, physical activity—including gross and fine motor development—plays a vital role in brain development and readiness for learning.

By strengthening these foundations, we are equipping students with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to successfully engage in a broader range of subjects as they move through Primary School.

At the same time, we are deeply committed to ensuring our youngest learners have space to be children—to explore, play, build relationships, and develop their social and emotional skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Every child is on their own unique learning journey. We encourage families to celebrate individual growth, strengths, and character development. Students grow at different rates, and our goal is to nurture confident, capable learners over time.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our students, families, and staff for an amazing term. We are excited to end the term with our Athletics Carnival which is always an encouragement and uplifting community event.

Athletics Carnival – All Welcome!
We would love to see all students attend, participate, and cheer on their peers. Athletics is a wonderful community event, and parents are warmly invited to join us. The full program is available below. A coffee van will be onsite Thursday and Friday mornings from approximately 9:30 am.

If you need to sign your child in or out during the day, please visit Administration or see staff at the First Aid tent.

Wednesday – 5–7 Year Olds

• Please do not place tuckshop orders, as students will be on the oval and not following a typical break schedule.
• Students may wear sports house colours (red, green, or blue). Clothing must be sun-safe with sleeves.
• Joggers or running shoes are required, and hats must be worn when not competing.

Thursday & Friday – 8–18 Year Olds

• All students must attend their first class for roll marking before heading to the oval with their teacher.
• Students may wear sports house colours (red, green, or blue), in line with CCC non-uniform guidelines.
• Clothing must be sun-safe and modest. Joggers or running shoes are required, and hats must also be worn when students are not competing.

Tuckshop Open
The tuckshop will be operating on Thursday and Friday.

Lost Property
There is currently a large amount of lost property. Items not collected will be donated at the end of term.

We look forward to celebrating the end of term together as a community. Go Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego!

We are excited to announce that this year's Whole School Athletics Carnival will be held as a combined Primary and Secondary event across three days in Week 10.

The carnival will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of Week 10, providing students with the opportunity to participate in a range of athletic events, demonstrate school spirit, and enjoy some friendly competition.

Please refer to the program below for detailed information regarding event schedules, year level participation, and carnival arrangements. We look forward to an enjoyable and successful athletics carnival for all students.

Vacation Care – Weeks 2 & 3 School Holidays

Our Vacation Care program will be running during Weeks 2 and 3 of the school holidays, from 6 July to 17 July.

Flexible session options are available to suit your family's needs:

• 11.5 Hour Session: 6:30am – 6:00pm
• 8 Hour Session: 8:00am – 4:00pm

With a variety of fun and engaging activities planned, Vacation Care is a great way for children to stay active, social, and entertained during the school holidays.

An Early Bird Special is currently available. Please refer to the Vacation Care flyer for program details, booking information, and Early Bird Special terms and conditions.

In addition to the support we provide at school, families may wish to explore tutoring options to reinforce key skills, provide targeted assistance, or extend learning. This can be especially helpful in building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, as well as supporting individual areas of need.

There are also a range of interactive online tutoring platforms available, offering flexible and engaging ways for students to practise and grow from home.
