Week 4 Primary Chapel & Devotion Focus: The Shield of Faith — COURAGE
This week in our Armour of God series, students are learning about the Shield of Faith and our CLEAR value of Courageous Learners.
Faith helps us face fear and uncertainty because we know that God is with us. Through the stories of Esther, students are learning that courage doesn’t always mean doing something big. Sometimes courage is telling the truth, standing up for someone, making a good choice when others don’t, or trying something that feels difficult.
Memory Verse:
“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
Talk About It at Home
Ask your child:
- When have you needed to be brave?
- What does trusting God look like when we feel afraid?
- How can you show courage to someone who needs help or encouragement?
- Is there something you could ask God to help you with this week?
Family Activity: Create a “Shield of Faith” together. Write on it the things that can make us feel worried or afraid, and around them write reminders of how we can trust God and show courage.
This week, look for opportunities to notice and celebrate courage in your child—especially those everyday moments when they choose to do what is right, keep trying, speak kindly or trust God when something feels hard.
