This term, our Primary students will be exploring the powerful theme of the Armour of God (Ephesians 6:10–18) through weekly devotions and chapel. Each week focuses on a different piece of the armour, helping students understand how God equips us to live with courage, wisdom, and faith in everyday life.

Our desire is for students to see that this is not just a Bible story, but a way of living. The armour of God helps us make good choices, respond well to challenges, and grow in character both at school and at home.

Dressed for God’s Work

A key message for students this term is:
We are dressed for God’s work.

Just as armour prepares a soldier, God prepares each of us to:

• Face challenges with courage
• Make wise and loving decisions
• Be a positive influence in our community

By linking biblical teaching with real-life examples, students see that faith is active, meaningful, and relevant to their daily lives.

How Families Can Support at Home

You may like to:

• Ask your child what part of the “armour” they are learning about each week
• Talk about real-life situations where they can apply it
• Practise the weekly memory verse together
• Encourage conversations about making good choices

Our Term 3 Excellence in Sport Programs are now open for registration on Parent Orbit.

The programs available this term are:

• Netball

• OzTag

Please read the attached program letter carefully before registering, as it contains important information, including program start dates, schedules, and other key details specific to each program.

Our Semester 2 Learning Progress Meetings are scheduled for Monday 3 August (Week 3). This is a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers, celebrate their achievements, and set goals for future growth.

Meeting Locations:

• Secondary: L1 & L2
• Primary: Your child’s regular classroom

Please note: Students with current or future IEPs have a separate process for progress discussions, please do not book a session.

Who can attend?

• All parents and caregivers are encouraged to book a 10 minute session with the teachers they would like to meet with.
• Students are welcome to join at your discretion.
• Sessions will be available between 3:15 and 7:00 pm.

How to book your meeting?

Bookings must be made through the Parent Orbit App; this allows families to select convenient times. Please note that bookings will close on Friday 31 July at 12 pm.

Simple booking steps:

1. Log in to Parent Orbit App
2. Select Parent Teacher Interviews on front screen
3. Click on your child’s name.
4. Choose a suitable time and confirm your booking.

It's that time of the year again... our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal is coming up, and we’re hosting a Christmas Cupcake Stall Fundraiser on Friday 31 July.

Parents and students, if you are able to bake and donate cupcakes for the stall, your support would be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will go towards our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox project. Students and staff will be able to purchase cupcakes during 2nd break.

Orders for our P&F Pie Drive are due back Wednesday 29 July (next week). Orders will be available for pick-up on Tuesday 11 August, between 2:30 and 4:00 pm. Additional order forms are available from the College or ELC administration. Beef and apple pies, sausage rolls, pasties and more are available. Students in Years 3-4, 5–6 and 7–8 are invited to take part in the Premier's Spelling Bee, a fun and free spelling competition held at school. If you would like your child to participate, please return the completed consent form by Thursday, 7 August. More information is linked below.

Gympie Wesleyan Methodist Church is launching Alpha this coming Thursday, July 23rd. Come along for this first night and see if this course is for you.

Alpha is a great way to explore the Christian faith with others who probably have the same questions you do, with sessions that create an opportunity to explore at your own pace and time.

Come at 6.00 pm for woodfire pizza, followed by a brief video presentation and opportunity for conversation and discussion. Child minding is available.

The QLD Ballet is offering a free workshop to our students on Thursday 13th August from 9.00am-9.45am, held in the SBH.

Our Musical and SHINE Dance students in years 1 - 6 are being offered this opportunity, but the invitation is being extended to any other students in years 1 - 6 who would like to participate.
