As we continue exploring the Armour of God, our focus this week is on Courage & Faith in Action, connected to our CLEAR value of being Courageous Learners.

Students will explore the story of Peter stepping out of the boat to walk towards Jesus (Matthew 14:22–33) and learn that courage doesn’t mean we are never afraid - it means choosing to trust God even when something feels difficult or uncertain.

Across Primary, students will consider what courage looks like in everyday life: trying something new, standing up for others, making wise choices, persevering when learning is challenging and trusting God through times of change.

We encourage families to talk together about a time when your child has needed courage and ask, “How can we trust God when we feel afraid or unsure?”

Courage grows when we remember that God is with us wherever we go.

Get ready to celebrate the creativity, imagination and incredible skills of our students at our Arts and Industrial Showcase 2026, being held in Week 8, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 September in I Block – Art Room & I3.

The showcase features an exciting collection of student artworks, media pieces and industrial creations from students across Grades 7–12. Our students have been working hard to develop their ideas, refine their skills and create pieces they are proud to share with our school community.

We also have a couple of enthusiastic Year 8 students who don't currently study Visual Arts or Industrial subjects but wanted to get involved and be part of the action!

Come along, explore the exhibition and help us celebrate our talented students by voting for your favourite student work from each year level.

The exhibition rooms will be open and supervised for students and families at the following times:

• Before school: 8:00am – 8:45am
• After school: 3:00pm – 7:00pm (before the Musical)

So, grab your family, come through I Block and take a look at the amazing work our students have created.

35 Year Celebration Committee Expression of Interest – Parents & Staff

Cooloola Christian College turns 35 in 2027!

We are looking for parents and staff to join the 35 Years of Blessings Celebration Committee and help us celebrate God’s faithfulness and the story of our College.

The committee will help plan a range of celebrations throughout 2027. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, creative and willing to contribute to making 2027 a memorable year for our College community. No previous event-planning experience is necessary.

The first meeting will be held in early Term 4, 2026.

Every single day at OSHC is an absolute adventure packed with action, energy, and non-stop fun! This term, our overarching focus has been tuning into the world around us, with a special eye (and ear!) on our local birdlife. We absolutely love uncovering the weird, wacky, and wonderful facts hidden all through God's incredible creation—did you know that a family of Rainbow Lorikeets isn't just a flock, but is often referred to as a riot?

As always, it has been a busy but beautiful term in OSHC with the buzz of movement, creativity, and spiritual discovery as our young learners marvel at the Creator's clever design. Our outdoors turned into a living classroom as we observed local Rainbow Lorikeets, Kookaburras and Cockatoos, exploring their ecological role as vital native pollinators alongside their rich First Nations cultural significance.

Hands-on design and discovery took centre stage as children tested their focus crafting braided wool bracelets, transformed recycled materials into wearable art during sustainability dress-ups, and built 3D architecture to share personal culture and identity in the weekly LEGO Challenge. We also celebrated the last chilly days of winter by creating our very own Fake Snow, while our young scientists explored fluid dynamics and colour mixing with vibrant rainbow walking experiments. To round out the days, our active explorers pushed their physical endurance, grip strength, and growth mindsets to the limit in the Hang Challenge which then developed into some student led relay races, celebrating resilience and individual progress!
