Primary Chapel – Easter Focus

This week in Primary Chapel, we will be learning about the true meaning of Easter, centred on our memory verse:

“God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.” – John 3:16

We will explore how Easter is the story of God’s great love for us. It reminds us that Jesus died on the cross to take away our sin, and that He rose again, bringing hope, new life, and the promise that we can be close to God forever. Through this, children will hear that they are deeply loved and that they belong to Him.

You might like to revisit this message at home by:

• Reading John 3:16 together
• Talking about why Easter is important to your family
• Sharing how you can show love and kindness to others this week

Our prayer is that this simple message of Easter—love, forgiveness, and new life—will be meaningful for your whole family.

Preparing for Easter

To help prepare hearts and minds for Chapel and the Easter season, families might enjoy singing worship songs together at home that remind us of God’s love and the meaning of the cross.

As we review our homework approach in Primary, we would value your feedback. We aim to support learning while also protecting family time, wellbeing, and opportunities for extracurricular activities.

School photos are scheduled for Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 March.

Queensland School Photography will be on-site to take ID, class photos and special group throughout the two days. A timetable will be sent to you before the day.

Students must wear:

• full formal uniform;
• hair neat and tidy, with school-coloured accessories only;
• correct jewellery;
• light foundation only for girls (girls wearing excess makeup will be required to remove it on the day before photos).

Senior students are also required to wear blazers and ties.

Parents who want to order Sibling Photos can use the same code. Sibling photos must be ordered asap so that the team can schedule these.

Envelopes and information was sent home with students on 6 March. Please notify us ASAP if your student is not to be photographed for the group photos, as these are used in our Yearbook.

Please note that envelopes containing cash payment must be handed directly to the photographer on the day and will not be accepted by the college.

Please find the attached timetable for School Photo Day scheduled on 24th and 25th March 2026. Kindly review the timetable carefully to note which day your student is required to attend for class and group photographs, as some students may be scheduled for photos on both days.

To support the safety and organisation of our youngest students, we would like to remind families of the tuckshop procedures for Prep and Year 1. Prep and Year 1 students should not have money at school.

Prep Students
All tuckshop orders for Prep students must be placed through the Flexischools app or the brown paper bag system. If your child has a tuckshop voucher, please write your child’s order on the brown paper bag and place the voucher inside. If there is a balance payable, please include the required money in the bag.

Prep students will only go to the tuckshop to collect an ice block if they have a sticker placed on their brown paper bag by the tuckshop.

Year 1 Students
Year 1 students should not bring money to school and should not purchase items over the counter at the tuckshop. All orders should be placed through the Flexischools app or the brown paper bag system.

The only exception is if a Year 1 student has a tuckshop voucher. In this case, they may use the voucher to purchase an item over the counter.
