What an incredible day we had at Cooloola Christian College on Tuesday! We were honoured to welcome Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra to our campus for a day filled with breathtaking performances and inspiring workshops. It was truly something special.

From the moment the first note was played, our students were captivated—not just as audience members, but as active participants in the creative process. Their energy, engagement, and curiosity were on full display, and we could not have been prouder. Whether they were listening, learning, performing, or experimenting with sound and expression, our students embraced every moment.

As I reflect on the day, I’m reminded that we serve a Creator God—one who made each of us in His image, with unique gifts and creative potential. Events like this are powerful reminders of the beauty and purpose of those gifts. When students use their talents to create, express, and collaborate, they are not just growing in skill—they are reflecting the nature of the One who made them.

Our calling as a Christian school is to help students discover these gifts and encourage them to use them to bless others and glorify God. Yesterday was a beautiful example of that in action.

Thank you to the team at Camerata for their generosity and passion, thank you to Jendy Smith and her team for organising the event, and thank you to our community for continually supporting the creative and spiritual growth of our students.

We value our connection with the school community and understand the importance of shared spaces for families to relax and connect. However, to meet national regulations and maintain our approval, our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program requires exclusive use of the Prep/Early Years space during operating hours - before 8:30 am and after 2:55 pm.

We recognise this area has been enjoyed by families, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritise safety and compliance. During these times, we invite you to use the Adventure Playground (behind the ELC), the play space in front of RTL, or the playground area near SBH. Please note that children in these areas must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian, as they are no longer under the school’s duty of care.

A reminder that our Yr 10 Immunisation Clinic is being held on Wednesday 11 June.

Parents, there is an excess of lost property at the school, with many jackets, hats, jumpers, and water bottles left unclaimed. Please take a moment to check if any of these items may belong to your child and arrange for their collection. The items that remain uncollected will be donated at the end of Term 2.

We are looking for an interested parent to join a newly formed Glastonbury Rd and Exhibition Rd Intersection Upgrade Committee made up of representatives from CCC, Gympie South State School and other key stakeholders who are interested in having input into improving parking, buses, pedestrian crossings and congestion issues.

Reminder to Primary Parents
Please help us keep our CCC standards consistent; ensure your students follow the school Uniform Policy:

• Jewellery – no necklaces, bracelets, only 1 x stud/sleeper
• School-coloured hair ties only
• Hair tied up if below the collar
• School jumpers must be worn
• No caps - school hats must be worn

Teachers will be checking that the correct uniform is worn each day.

We kindly ask that students do not bring toys, accessories, or similar items to school. These items can easily be lost, broken, or mishandled, and we want to avoid any upset.

To help raise funds for Sophia to represent Australia in the 2025 Canada Track & Field Tour, the Jordan family in partnership with Cooloola Fruit & Veg is running a Pie Drive Fundraiser to assist with her travel and competition expenses.

Come along to Little Arrows Playgroup in Term 2 as we sing, dance & learn about how God made us!

In week 2 of term 3, CCC will have the privilege of hosting 30 students aged 15-17 and two escorts from Yuhigaoka High School in Japan. During their week here, students will interact with all CCC students and have English speaking classes, they will also visit Australia Zoo.
