Senior Visual Art Students Shine in IA2 Projects

Our talented Year 11 and 12 Visual Art students have recently completed their IA2 assessment projects, showcasing their creativity, dedication, and artistic growth. These works reflect a strong engagement with contemporary themes, personal expression, and technical skill. Some of these impressive pieces are featured below, offering just a glimpse into the passion and effort poured into each creation.

What a fantastic achievement by our senior students—congratulations! We can’t wait to see how they continue to explore alternate contemporary art in their future works.

Reminder to Primary Parents
Please help us keep our CCC standards consistent; ensure your students follow the school Uniform Policy:

• Jewellery – no necklaces, bracelets, only 1 x stud/sleeper
• School-coloured hair ties only
• Hair tied up if below the collar
• School jumpers must be worn
• No caps - school hats must be worn

Teachers will be checking that the correct uniform is worn each day.

We ask that parents please contact admin to pass on messages to your child rather than try to use their child’s mobile or email. As has been the policy for many years, students should have their phones in their locker and turned off during the school day. Emails may or may not be seen through the day depending on class activities. Our helpful administrative team will ensure messages are delivered to your child promptly.

We value our connection with the school community and understand the importance of shared spaces for families to relax and connect. However, to meet national regulations and maintain our approval, our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program requires exclusive use of the Prep/Early Years space during operating hours - before 8:30 am and after 2:55 pm.

We recognise this area has been enjoyed by families, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritise safety and compliance. During these times, we invite you to use the Adventure Playground (behind the ELC), the play space in front of RTL, or the playground area near SBH. Please note that children in these areas must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian, as they are no longer under the school’s duty of care.

Parents, there is an excess of lost property at the school, with many jackets, hats, jumpers, and water bottles left unclaimed. Please take a moment to check if any of these items may belong to your child and arrange for their collection. The items that remain uncollected will be donated at the end of Term 2.

We are looking for an interested parent to join a newly formed Glastonbury Rd and Exhibition Rd Intersection Upgrade Committee made up of representatives from CCC, Gympie South State School and other key stakeholders who are interested in having input into improving parking, buses, pedestrian crossings and congestion issues.

In week 2 of term 3, CCC will have the privilege of hosting 30 students aged 15-17 and two escorts from Yuhigaoka High School in Japan. During their week here, students will interact with all CCC students and have English speaking classes, they will also visit Australia Zoo. Join the Adventure with Centenary Gympie Scouts!
Did you know Scouts is Australia’s largest youth leadership organisation? Scouting provides real opportunities for young people to grow in resilience, leadership, and community spirit—all while having heaps of fun!

From age 5 through to 25, there’s a Scouting section for everyone. And Centenary Gympie meets at the following times:

• Joey Scouts (5–8 years) – Wednesdays, 4:00pm–5:20pm
• Cub Scouts (8–11 years) – Wednesdays, 5:30pm–7:00pm
• Scouts (11–14 years) – Mondays, 5:30pm–7:30pm
• Venturer Scouts (14–18 years) – Wednesdays, 5:30pm–7:00pm

Surveys show that Scouts are 9.4% more likely than non-Scouts to feel hopeful about their future—and we see that every week in our local youth. Come and be part of the Centenary Gympie Scout Group and discover the adventure for yourself!
